The Duomo of Milan

No visit to Milan is complete without stopping to admire its most iconic symbol: the Duomo.

Of course, Milan has much more to offer, but to truly experience the essence of the city, one must step inside its majestic cathedral and most importantly, discover its fascinating history.

Our tour will take us through the different phases of the cathedral’s construction, from the 14th-century apse to the monumental façade, which was completed in the 19th century.

Inside, we will admire the stunning stained-glass windows, the chapels adorned with priceless works of art, and the grand presbytery area. Then, we will descend four meters below the cathedral’s square, where we will uncover the remains of the earliest Christian buildings from the Roman era: the foundations of Santa Tecla and the Baptistery of San Giovanni, the very place where Saint Ambrose baptized Saint Augustine.
